The KAMISHIBAI PERFORMANCE VISIT looks to give children new outlooks. It is also a great opportunity for them to communicate with people from outside the region, and brings them sense of unity, excitement and sensation through interactive communication. They can experience the excitement of the extraordinary plots, surprise as scenes are as switched out by hand, and interest as they listen to the easy but rhythmical story lines. It also help them gain better concentration and more imagination through interactions with the story teller, and communicative stories increase the sense of “groove”, which contributes to development of their intellectual curiosity. The central players of an original piece created by a contemporary artist are the children, and they fully embrace the part especially the elements of acting and dancing. Communicating with children through actual performances is the fastest way to being both remembered and to act as a future resource for the child who sees it. >> About Kamishibai

FUKUSHIMA,as you know, has issues relating to radiation.
Fukushima has had less interactions with other prefectures and regions and support from government and NPOs than other affected areas by earthquakes and tsunami, and there are areas that still have no social supports. While there are groups to provide information about radiation issues and to lobby the central government, the number of organizations which provides workshops and activities for children still living in (having to live in) Fukushima is very few.
Having come to know about the necessity of psychological (or metal) care, as well as the decrease in chances to interact with others and people outside the region, financial issues, Konohana-soshi started its kamishibai projects, centered in Fukushima. >> Why Fukushima?

Konohana-soshi solicits for donations from those who support the kamishibai project in which we visit preschools, nurseries (and old folks home if requested) in Fukushima Prefecture and other affected areas. We use the funds to subsidize minimum costs for the project, such as transportation and accommodation fees. Earnings are reported through a tax accountant office each fiscal term. >> About Donations
